Steak Sengoku Kasuga: A Culinary Journey Through Time

I visited “Steak Sengoku Kasuga,” a venerable Western-style restaurant founded in 1970. Located not far from Tokyo Dome, this restaurant offers a wide range of Western cuisine, including steaks and beef stew.

Their specialty is the coarse-ground hamburger steak that truly captures the essence of meat. It’s made from 100% beef and features carefully selected Okukujira natural eggs.

“Steak Sengoku Kasuga” was conceived in the late 1970s with the intention of sharing the deliciousness of steak with the general public, making it an accessible treat.

The restaurant is conveniently located near Kasuga Station.

“Restaurant Sengoku Kasuga Honten” is another well-established Western-style eatery, opening its doors in 1971. Situated close to Tokyo Dome, it has been in business for an impressive 49 years.

Their signature dish is the steak hamburger made from the leftover meat trimmings after cutting steaks. It’s also crafted with 100% beef and features carefully selected Okukujia eggs. Another beloved menu item is the creamy and fluffy omelette rice made with three Okukujia eggs.

During lunchtime, you can enjoy a 200g hamburger steak served with rice and soup for just 1,080 yen. You can choose between corn and consommé soup, with the consommé being particularly delightful, thanks to its slow-cooked, vegetable-infused richness.

The restaurant comprises two floors: the first floor specializes in pork cutlets, while the second floor houses the Western-style restaurant.

Recommended items from “Steak Sengoku Kasuga” include the steak hamburger, sirloin steak, harami (skirt steak) steak, omelette rice, demi-glace hamburger, Japanese-style hamburger, cheddar cheese steak hamburger, steak hamburger & cut steak, sunny-side-up eggs, and mixed fry.

For the steak hamburger, you can choose from a variety of sauces, including Sengoku butter, garlic mayonnaise, garlic soy pepper sauce, grated ponzu citrus soy sauce, and tomato sauce.

The sirloin steak is tender, flavorful, and renowned for its sweet fat. The restaurant’s original Sengoku butter is known for enhancing the meat’s flavor without overpowering it.

The mixed fry is highly praised for its assortment of fried delights.

During my visit with children, we enjoyed the sirloin steak and the kids’ hamburger.

Both “Steak Sengoku Kasuga” and “Restaurant Sengoku Kasuga Honten” offer a delightful array of dishes that cater to various tastes. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic steak or a hearty hamburger, these restaurants have something to satisfy every palate.
